Quand le jeûne intermittent a-t-il commencé?
Jusqu’à récemment, c’était simplement la façon dont les êtres humains mangeaient. Ce sont nos origines alimentaires en quelque sorte.
Personne n’a créé de pilule «magique» dans un laboratoire. Personne n’a imaginé une manière «secrète» de jouer au système et de tromper notre corps. Personne n’a fait une découverte «révolutionnaire» comme la pénicilline… Aucune de ces actualités marketing que nous voyons tous les jours.
Dans un passé récent, la nourriture était rare. Si vous vouliez manger, vous deviez chasser. Les jours où vous réussissiez à chercher de la nourriture ou à chasser avec succès, il y avait un festin ensuite.
Si les cueillettes étaient minces et qu’il n’y avait pas de nourriture, vous auriez faim. Cela s’apparente au jeûne. La seule différence est qu’il n’y avait pas de choix dans le passé.
En raison du cycle de consommation de nourriture et de jeûne, nos ancêtres étaient rarement en surpoids. Ils ont également mené une vie beaucoup plus active car il y avait peu de technologie pour les aider.
La recherche nous dit que le corps humain s’adapte instinctivement au jeûne intermittent. Nous avons évidemment évolué sur le plan technologique, mais notre physiologie est essentiellement la même que celle de nos ancêtres.
L’histoire en bref…
Après la révolution industrielle, l’Homme a réussi à produire en très grande quantité 3 ingrédients :
l’huile extraite des graines, la farine extraite des céréales et le sucre raffiné.
C’était très important car ce sont des ingrédients à haute valeur énergétique que l’on ne trouvait pas facilement dans son alimentation pendant toute l’évolution de l’Homme.
Puis dans les années 1950 à peu près, des chercheurs pensent que l’on peut arrêter la faim dans le monde en quelques sortes et donner à manger à tout le monde. Dans le même temps, suite à ces changements d’alimentation, on découvre de plus en plus de maladies cardio-vasculaires.
Des études montrent un lien entre ces maladies et la consommation plus importante de produits gras et sucrés. L’industrie du sucre s’étant alors beaucoup développé avec des sociétés mondiales qui préfèrent passer sous silence les liens du sucre avec les nouvelles maladies, c’est le début des lobbys.
Le gras reste l’ennemi numéro 1 concernant les nouvelles maladies liées à l’alimentation et commence également la multiplication du surpoids dans les pays anglo-saxons.
Les années passant, et des études plus indépendantes montrant l’action nocive de la consommation trop grande de sucre, les industriels trouvent une autre parade pour faire consommer toujours d’avantage leurs produits : les snacks. On vous dit alors que prendre plusieurs repas dans la journée, donc en étalant ses besoins caloriques sur la journée est meilleur pour votre santé. Et plusieurs repas feraient augmenter le métabolisme.
De nouvelles études très récentes ont montrées que cela était plutôt faux et qu’un gros repas faisait tout aussi monter le métabolisme que plusieurs petits.
Alors pourquoi faire du jeûne intermittent ?
Et bien je vais vous parler d’hormones et d’homéostasie…
Les études les plus récentes avec les connaissances du rôle des hormones sur l’organisme démontent alors tous ces principes que l’on nous rabâche à longueur de journée.
D’ailleurs, ce n’est pas paradoxal d’essayer de faire mincir la population avec les même méthodes que pour éliminer la sous-nutrition il y a 70 ans ?
L’homéostasie, très peu de monde ne sais ce que c’est. C’est pourtant la clé du vivant. Ce principe d’homéostasie dit que tout être vivant, dans un environnement adéquat, se répare de lui-même. Quand vous avez une plaie, elle se répare d’elle même n’est-ce pas? Et bien c’est valable pour toutes les cellules de notre corps. C’est valable pour tous les systèmes de notre corps:
– Le sang a besoin d’un certain niveau d’acidité et le corps fait tout pour le garder à un point d’équilibre.
– Le corps cherche également à garder un poids d’équilibre, un poids santé, malgré le fait que l’on mangerait plus que d’habitude ou pas assez, ou que l’on ne bougerait moins ou plus.
Concrètement, le corps s’adapte à son environnement et met en place des systèmes pour rester le plus possible en meilleure santé possible.
MAIS: dès que notre environnement (alimentation nocive, peu vitalisante, sur-alimentation, sédentarité, perturbateurs endocriniens, manque de sommeil, stress, pollution, ondes, confort de température permanent etc…) s’éloigne de notre capacité d’adaptation (chacun à sa propre capacité d’adaptation), le corps ne peut plus suivre la cadence et là se développe des maladies et de la prise de poids (ou perte de poids extrème).
Et c’est malheureusement les caractéristiques de notre vie moderne. Certains spécialistes parlent de monde obésigène….
C’est là que vous devez agir sur certains stress, au sens large, qui agressent votre corps. Vous pouvez avoir une sorte de manette de contrôle sur des facteurs comme l’activité physique, la gestion du stress par n’importe quelle activité (manuelle, culturelle, sportive), la respiration (près de 80% des graisses « sortent » sous forme de gaz carbonique) et… la nutrition en premier lieu. Tout ceci dans le but de ré-équilibrer des fonctions hormonales, nerveuses et permettre à votre corps de retrouver un environnement plus sain qui lui permette de tendre vers la pleine santé et… un poids santé.
Lorsque vous mangez, votre corps produit de l’insuline, une hormone qui sert à faire baisser le taux de sucre dans le sang. C’est vital pour le corps car trop de sucre est très nocif pour l’organisme. Là encore, l’homéostasie fait son travail.
Le sucre est transformé en glycogène et stocké dans le foie, les muscles et sous forme de graisse dans les cellules adipeuses (les réserves de graisse). Mais les réserves du foie et des muscles sont très rapidement saturées, voire déjà pleines si vous avez mangé il y a peu et que vous n’avez pas bougé. Donc l’excès part dans les cellules graisseuses qui elles, sont extensibles.
Lorsqu’il n’y a plus besoin d’insuline, une autre hormone peut être activée : le Glucagon. C’est l’opposé de l’insuline ! Son but est de garder un taux de sucre dans le sang normal pour éviter l’hypoglycémie.
Donc il prend les réserves du foie, des muscles (lorsque vous faites une activité physique), et ensuite il va chercher l’énergie dans les réserves de graisse. Mais si vous re-mangez avant d’aller puiser dans les graisses, vous bloquez la production de glucagon pour ré-activer celle d’insuline !
Donc quand votre corps produits de l’insuline, il stocke. Il ne peut pas déstocker en même temps, c’est soit l’un soit l’autre.
De plus, votre système digestif n’est jamais au repos. Et cela demande beaucoup d’énergie au corps, qui ne peut pas en mettre autant pour d’autres « problèmes » à gérer comme le nettoyage de tous les toxiques dans votre corps. C’est comme cela que vient aussi la rétention d’eau, car l’acidité dans votre sang, doit être dilué (homéostasie quand tu nous tient), alors le corps retient l’eau.
Vous comprenez qu’il faut donc laisser à votre organisme le temps de se reposer et d’aller chercher l’énergie dans vos réserves de graisse !
D’autres hormones intéressantes sont activées pendant le jeûne.
Citons L’hormone de croissance qui connaît un booste spectaculaire. Celle-ci joue un rôle prépondérant dans la prise de masse musculaire et le maintien de celle-ci par conséquent et booste aussi la production de testostérone.
Quand on sait qu’un régime trop privatif entraîne la perte de masse musculaire, le jeûne intermittent permet de garder cette masse musculaire et c’est un bénéfice fondamental. Car plus votre métabolisme est haut, plus votre corps utilise de l’énergie pour fonctionner au repos.
Les hormones de la faim comme la ghréline et la leptine sont aussi régulées grâce à cette période de jeûne. En clair, vous n’avez plus aussi faim qu’avant et votre satiété est aussi à la normale.
EST-CE SÉCURITAIRE POUR VOUS?
Le jeûne intermittent est-il sûr pour moi?
Cela dépend de vous. Rien n’est parfait pour tout le monde et, dans la mesure du possible, cela s’applique également au jeûne intermittent.
Pour la plupart des gens, le jeûne intermittent sera sans danger. En fait, ce sera très bénéfique.
Des études ont montré que de nombreuses personnes ayant débuté un programme de jeûne intermittent avaient constaté des bienfaits pour la santé, tels qu’une combustion accrue des graisses et un taux métabolique élevé.
Leur tension artérielle, leur taux de mauvais cholestérol et leur taux de sucre dans le sang se sont considérablement améliorés.
Une façon d’aider à calmer vos peurs est de penser au sommeil. Tout le monde traverse une période de jeûne lorsqu’il est endormi. Si vous dormez pendant huit heures, vous serez à jeun.
La principale raison pour laquelle les personnes ne bénéficient pas des avantages du jeûne est qu’elles dorment moins de huit heures.
La raison n ° 2 est que les gens mangent trop près de l’heure du coucher. Ainsi, lorsqu’ils dorment, la nourriture est digérée et le corps n’a aucune chance de rester à jeun trop longtemps.
Dès leur réveil, ils prennent leur petit-déjeuner et commencent à manger tout au long de la journée. Le corps a très peu de temps pour puiser dans ses réserves de graisse.
Les personnes souffrant de problèmes gastriques, de diabète, etc. doivent consulter un médecin avant de commencer un mode de vie de jeûne intermittent.
